On-going project
During the pandemic period we saw the clear opportunity to expand our product from Townscript - India’s leading event ticketing & listing platform to Townhall - Virtual and hybrid conferencing platform NOW. During COVID-19 The initial strategy was to develop an end - to - end solution for virtual conferencing only. And we ended up creating the virtual conferencing solution considering all the personas for successful virtual event (i.e Host, Speakers, Attendees, Booth representatives etc).
After multiple feedbacks from our current customers and market explorations we found out that the event industry is again shifting to normal. BUT this time the event industry is changing to the new mode of conducting the events. It is called as Hybrid (Virtual + In-person) conferencing.
Post pandemic the event industry sees the shift. Now the people are more inclined towards the immersive event experiences. We wanted clear evidence to match with what we got to know from our customers. For this we referred to the Skift Reports.
Skift has a significant role in the event industry by providing valuable insights, analysis, and trends that are relevant to event professionals.
After clear considerations we pivoted our product from Only virtual to Hybrid conferencing.

As this is a very new concept we wanted to have a clear understanding how the hybrid conferencing works? What are the personas involved in it? And for these personas how we can cater with feature rich toolset?
This lead us to have system thinking of the entire life-cycle of one successful hybrid event. Initially we started to have a look at current systems for live broadcast where scenario is pretty similar to what we wanted to achieve. The system level thinking was much important to understand what toolset is involed and how we can place product thinking to have digital + physical systems in a place. Also we took on-board AV engineer to know the technicalities in this field. We periodically conducted the product demos where we actually bought all the tools and systems that are required for the entire hybrid event setup. Understanding the system helped to have a clear picture of how video and audio processing works.
